How to Create Worm Tea

The Worm Castings Tea Bags can be used to create the ultimate liquid fertilizer: worm teaJust one of our tea bags brews 5 gallons of worm tea - that is a lot of natural organic plant food! Ditch the chemicals and pesticide ridden fertilizers - make your own natural superfood for your plants.

DIRECTIONS:

  • Simply steep the tea bag in 5 gallons of water for 24 hours. For best results aerate the tea while brewing for 24 hours. This will stimulate the growth of millions of microbes during the brewing process but is not required. This can be accomplished using an aquarium pump or an air compressor.
  • We recommend adding one tablespoon of unsulphered molasses or honey to help feed the microbes while the tea is brewing.
  • If your water is chlorinated, let sit for 24 hours before brewing worm tea to let the chlorine dissipate.
  • Use a watering pail, pump sprayer, or dial sprayer to apply the worm tea to your plants, garden, or lawn.
  • When fertilizing your lawn with worm tea liquid worm castings, we recommend 20 gallons per acre, four times a year.
  • You may use the tea as is or dilute 1 to 1 with water.
